Climb to New Heights, Paint the Future — HHIT’s Annual Team-Building Trip to Huangshan

Release time:2025-08-08

From August 3 to 5, 2025, all employees of Hangzhou Hyperspectral Imaging Technology Co., Ltd. (HHIT) temporarily stepped away from their busy workstations and walked into the poetic landscape of Huizhou’s ink-wash style — from the gray bricks and dark tiles of Hongcun Village to the sea of clouds and pine waves of Huangshan Mountain. Along the way, they challenged themselves, climbed to new heights, and collected beautiful scenery as well as shared laughter.

The first stop of the trip was the Huizhou Carving Art Museum, where the team experienced "bamboo carving" — one of the "Three Great Carvings of Huizhou" (the other two being wood carving and stone carving), a national intangible cultural heritage. Listed in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage in 2006, bamboo carving uses high-quality moso bamboo native to the Huangshan area as its material. It integrates the aesthetic taste of Huizhou scholars and the exquisite craftsmanship of artisans, depicting landscape artistic conceptions and humanistic stories on bamboo joints — it is hailed as "three-dimensional calligraphy and painting created with a knife instead of a brush."

HHIT organized employees to visit Huizhou carving art, appreciate its exquisite craftsmanship, and experience bamboo carving in person. Through every cut and stroke, they understood the ultimate spirit of Huizhou artisans — "honing a knife for ten years" — and reflected on the significance of inheriting intangible cultural heritage. When the knife tip glided over the green bamboo surface, what was carved was not just patterns, but also the pursuit of the professional spirit of "striving for excellence."

After experiencing bamboo carving, HHIT’s team headed to Hongcun Village. This picturesque water town in the misty rain of Jiangnan unfolded like a long ink-wash painting before their eyes: white walls and gray tiles arranged in neat order, with eaves featuring raised and upturned corners. HHIT employees explored the artistic treasures of Huizhou-style architecture here — gray-white walls, dark gray tiles, and staggered horse-head walls (a unique feature of Huizhou architecture); the village boasts grand scale, exquisite layout, and extremely intricate wood carvings. Even in heavy rain, the team did not forget to stop and admire the scenery while learning about Hongcun’s cultural background. Fortunately, the rain eventually cleared up, allowing them to experience two different views of Hongcun in a short time. The flagstone paths washed by rain reflected the outlines of horse-head walls; the beauty after the rain was not only a gift from nature, but also a testament to the perseverance of HHIT employees — as if reminding us that the most beautiful scenery often comes after wind and rain.

The third stop of HHIT’s trip was Huangshan Mountain. Standing in southern Anhui Province, China, this legendary mountain holds the titles of World Natural Heritage, World Cultural Heritage, and World Geopark. With its unparalleled charm described by the saying "After visiting the Five Great Mountains, one needs not look at other mountains; after visiting Huangshan, one needs not look at the Five Great Mountains," it is renowned as "the Most Fantastic Mountain Under Heaven." It is not only a masterpiece of nature’s ingenuity, but also a spiritual totem of Chinese culture.

All HHIT employees came here to conquer Huangshan: starting from Yuping Scenic Area to the Guest-Greeting Pine, passing through One-Line Sky, Tianhai (Heavenly Sea), and the West Sea Grand Canyon, and finally reaching Guangmingding (Bright Summit) — at an altitude of 1,860 meters — to enjoy the panoramic view of Huangshan. HHIT employees climbed over mountains in heavy rain; every upward step was a testament to the faith and strength embodied in the line "When one reaches the top"; every moment standing on the mountain peak was filled with the lofty aspirations and passion expressed in "all mountains appear small."
