Recently, Hangzhou Hyperspectral Imaging Technology Co., Ltd. (abbreviated as "HHIT") announced the completion of its Series A funding round, raising tens of millions of RMB. This round of funding was jointly participated by Haitong Innovation Private Equity Fund Management Co., Ltd. (representing market-oriented investment institutions) and Guangdong Gongye Technology Co., Ltd. (representing industrial investors). Taking this as an opportunity, HHIT will accelerate product R&D and iteration, strengthen the construction of domestic and international channels, and further consolidate its leading position in the spectral vision industry. At the same time, it will speed up the large-scale production of standardized cameras and integrated equipment, further reduce costs, and support the multi-dimensional intelligent perception needs of more industry customers.
HHIT was founded by Dr. Pan Mingzhong, a researcher and doctoral supervisor at the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, Hangzhou Advanced Research Institute of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS). Based on its independently developed dispersive hyperspectral imaging technology, the company provides scientific research and industry clients with a full range of products, including hyperspectral cameras, portable hyperspectral imagers, microscopic hyperspectral imagers, and (unmanned) airborne hyperspectral imaging systems, covering a spectral range of 200nm–12μm. It has built a complete technology chain spanning from hardware and software algorithms to data processing and result analysis, while continuously expanding application solutions for spectral vision in scenarios such as low-altitude remote sensing, industrial inspection, and medical imaging.
HHIT does not merely provide hyperspectral hardware products; instead, it offers comprehensive spectral vision application solutions.
Built on three core technology platforms — dispersive hyperspectral imaging technology, integrated acquisition-control-algorithm system integration technology, and data processing & AI intelligent analysis technology — HHIT also adopts the internationally advanced IPD (Integrated Product Development) + Agile development management process. Combining the concepts of platform-based and modular efficient development, the company has launched a full range of spectral vision hardware, software, and integrated systems covering macro remote sensing, near-field detection, and micro detection. This forms a complete technical closed loop that can meet spectral perception needs across different application scenarios. By integrating end-to-end data processing and AI intelligent analysis technology, HHIT significantly shortens the implementation cycle of application systems and reduces the R&D costs of users’ systems.
Over the past two years, by focusing on application scenarios in industrial inspection and low-altitude remote sensing, HHIT has established in-depth cooperative relationships with leading enterprises in the industry. It has also achieved industry-leading mass deliveries in scenarios such as water quality remote sensing monitoring, solid waste recycling and sorting, and tobacco detection. The performance, practicality, and technical support services of its products have all gained market recognition.
In China, the scale of the artificial intelligence (AI) industry reached RMB 508 billion in 2022 and is expected to exceed RMB 1 trillion by 2029. Among its segments, computer vision accounts for over 10% of the market. As one of the two core technical branches of next-generation computer vision, spectral vision boasts broad market potential. HHIT firmly believes in its philosophy of "focusing solely on high-quality products": while ensuring product quality, it will reduce costs through technological innovation and large-scale production, and pass on these cost savings to customers. This helps customers maintain advantages in fierce market competition and navigate industry cyclical changes.
In the past, the spectral vision product market was dominated by overseas brands. In recent years, with the continuous efforts of domestic manufacturers represented by HHIT, the market share of domestic products has been rising rapidly year by year. In June this year, HHIT participated in Laser World of Photonics 2025, held in Munich, Germany, and received widespread attention and praise from overseas optoelectronic instrument peers and distributors.
In the future, HHIT will always adhere to independent R&D, focus on core technologies to build an open ecosystem, and commit to accelerating the in-depth integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and spectral vision technology. It aims to provide global industry customers with "new-quality productive force tools" for multi-dimensional intelligent perception.
